Import Restart Files from Eclipse

Hello, when trying to import multiple time-steps from an Eclipse simulation ResInsight does not import the time steps, but only the basic grid with no properties or dynamic information ... . X00xxxx files and EGRID file are present ... and I can load the results in Petrel ... . The test files import properly ... .

Any hints why this could be the case? (Missing key-words in the deck? Wrong file format?).

Hi, thanks for your interest in ResInsight.

When importing a simulation case starting from EGRID, the dynamic data is usually present in *.UNRST. The filename without extension must be identical. Some simulator configurations export with slightly different names.

Using a single file for the results (UNRST) is the recommended way. Individual time steps in X00xxx is also supported, make sure you use the resdata as grid reader. https://resinsight.org/misc/preferences/index.html#grid

thanks for the quick reply. However, I tried and it does not work for my case (and all others I tried). I am running Eclise 2022.1 and generate a UNRST file. The deck is attached ... . Maybe it helps ...

Hi,

I was able to download your test case. When I run the case using opm-flow, the grid file is named REF_CASE_GRID.EGRID and the result file is named REF_CASE.UNRST. Renaming the grid file by removing _GRID to REF_CASE.EGRID loads the grid with corresponding dynamic data as expected.
