Option to turn off (pesky) characters :)

It would be nice to turn off characters (including in the chat interface) by simply loading a model and chatting like in almost all other LLM chat apps.

This is technically not impossible to be done UI wise, but ultimately it isn't very different from just having a blank character card. You can also enable 'load last chat on startup' to skip the character screen.
