Dear Developer:
We are currently working on powder particle transport in porous rock media and noticed that you performed a similar simulation in your published paper, "Hybrid Fictional Domain Docked Boundary Solver coupled with the Discrete Element Method...", which studied vacuum-driven catalyst slurry deposition onto a porous filter.
We have a question regarding the treatment of the porous mesh—an irregular geometry—specifically during the “collisionPatches” setup step. In the existing examples and tutorials, the fluid domains are all regular, and the parameters required for “collisionPatches”—such as “nVec” (surface normal vector) and “planePoints” (an arbitrary point on the plane)—are straightforward to define. However, for an irregular porous fluid domain, we are uncertain how to configure these settings.
Could you please provide some guidance on this matter?
