Error 429: Too may requests from your account for e-Golf

Using carconnectivity to access e-Golf data (old CarNet backend @ Volkswagen) after few hours triggers Error 429: "too many requests from your account." (access to be restored at midnight). To overcome this known issue data requests should be executed only on demand and not periodically. Up to now I failed in implementing a forced update:

client.publish(f"carconnectivity/0/commands/update_writetopic", "update")

seems to be accepted by carconnectivity, but has no effect. The next update happens not before the regular update cycle, set by the update intervall.
