'widely-loved, powerful, free, and open source graphical desktop environment' that's a lot of adjectives for a first sentence. Rephrase to 'widely-loved, powerful and free open source desktop environment '

Great point! I think I might actually remove "powerful" instead; it wouldn't be "widely-loved" if it wasn't powerful! "Free" doesn't necessarily mean "open source", so I'd really like to include both :)

This is a bit confusing because it might not be clear if QGIS is part of programming-based tools or not. Rephrase to 'In contrast to the broad and deep, programming-based tools, QGIS is simple to use and empowers ...'

* Spot-checking attributes of specific features based on their shape and location
* Spot-checking a value of raster grid cells corresponding with landmarks

It is not completely clear which ecosystems of tools and features are meant here, can you specify?


Keeping up with the ecosystems of the tools and features needed to accomplish these
objectives in code is often not aligned with the goals of the practitioner.
Using tools like QGIS helps researchers do research, helps educators educate, without
