Cloudstream is an open-source project working to bring real-time analytics to cloud systems. Think of it as making sense of complex data, at scale, using cloud based analytics tools, to increase signal-to-noise ratios, perform anomaly detection, and make decisions to keep a cloud service healthy.
Cloudstream is still in the planning phase, but the intention is to develop it in public as open-source, to leverage the existing open-source tools for building and monitoring clouds (from Netflix, Amazon, and others).
The payoff is that cloud systems can become self-diagnosing, self-healing, stable and robust.
Cloudstream is a re-visioning of the work I did at Netflix in bringing analytics to bear on the real-world cloud systems that run their service.
