QuattroBox v2 is the complete evolution of my MMU for 3D printers. This version has been fully redesigned from the ground up, focusing on simplicity, compactness, and everyday usability.
I kept as much compatibility as possible with components from the previous version, while introducing significant improvements in both mechanical design and overall user experience.
- Integrated filament dryer with AC heater
- Exhaust system for moisture removal
- Dedicated 4A power supply (optional)
- More compact extruder using a 23 mm NEMA17 (pancake)
- Hub with integrated Sync PSF
- Hinged lid (compatible with v1 panels)
- Magnetic bottom cover for easy access and maintenance
- Simplified and more organized assembly process
- All electronic components are assembled outside the enclosure before final installation
- Cable management clips
- Fully 3D printed structure (no aluminum extrusions required)
- Mounting supports to rest the MMU on the printer’s top extrusions
- Optimized for a 180 mm print area, with up to 142 mm height
- Dedicated space for an RFID reader (under development)
- Compatible with Happy Hare for MMU control
The QuattroBox v2 design has also evolved significantly, not only in aesthetics but mainly in everyday usability. The status LED buttons are part of the system’s visual and functional identity, making it easy to quickly understand its operation. The system also features dedicated lighting to monitor the filament path. The internal layout has been reorganized to be cleaner and more intuitive, improving both assembly and maintenance. Access to components has also been designed to be simpler and more practical for day-to-day use.
QuattroBox v2 was designed to be accessible and easy to build, without compromising functionality. The goal is to eliminate unnecessary complexity while maintaining a reliable and efficient multi-material system.
I have a Discord channel on HappyHare, feel free to ask your questions and give suggestions
