Workflow cannot be displayed when switching tabs

Prerequisites

• I am running the latest version of ComfyUI
• I have searched existing issues to make sure this isn't a duplicate
• I have tested with all custom nodes disabled (see how)

What happened?

When I am running a workflow, switching the workflow tab will keep the interface blank, even if there are no tasks running, it still cannot be displayed. I conducted the following tests

1. Disable all third-party plugins, problem persists
   After the task is completed, there is a probability that the corresponding workflow will be displayed, but others will not be displayed
2. It seems that the probability of occurrence is relatively high in some particularly performance intensive scenarios

When I switch, the console will display the following information:

Steps to Reproduce

1. Run a performance intensive workflow (such as running 4K images and generating videos)
2. Switch between tabs that have already been opened, switch back and forth a few times, and there is a high probability that it will appear

This is a known issue in recent ComfyUI Frontend versions, especially on Chrome/Chromium and with performance-intensive workflows. The blank workflow tab and repeated "Empty components: policy ignored" warning are linked to frontend rendering or state synchronization problems, not custom nodes or extensions. The problem is more likely to occur after heavy workflows due to resource exhaustion or race conditions in the UI state management, and has been reported by other users as well (example, example, example).

There isn't a universal fix yet, but some workarounds that have helped others include: disabling all browser extensions, clearing Chrome's cache, resetting font size to Medium, lowering your monitor's refresh rate, or switching to Firefox/Edge (source). The maintainers are aware and working on frontend regressions, but the issue persists in the latest releases.

If you need to avoid the blank tabs, using a different browser is currently the most reliable workaround. If you want to follow technical progress, keep an eye on recent pull requests and issues related to tab switching and workflow rendering (source).
