Crash when SyncTrayzor is launched as admin

Hey.

This is a new installation of SyncTrayzor on Win 11 25H2 26200.
SyncTrayzor v2.0.1
SyncThing v2.0.3

SyncThing is working fine.
SyncTrayzor appears to be installed just fine, but when I launch it it crashes instantly.
The error is: "SyncTrayzor.exe - EXCEPTION. Breakpoint A breakpoint has been reached."
There is no log for SyncTrayzor anywhere on the system, and there is no event in event viewer.

Any suggestions?

Yeah I've no idea. This looks like a system corruption, I would suggest to check the usual file integrity tools (sfc, dism) first if there's any bad system files.

No system file corruption.

During installation, SyncThing v2.0.0 (not v.2.0,3) is placed in ProgramFiles and AppData\Roaming.
Nevertheless, the same exception is happening with SyncThing v2.0.0 and v.2.0,3,

I have checked for corrupt system files, have rebooted several times and uninstalled and reinstalled also several times.
The same issue persists.

I am attaching SyncTrayzor log files and system scans log files.

The log is interesting. I thought the exception happened very early during .NET runtime initialisation, but the logs indicate that it's happening much later than that. The likely culprit is CEF then. Will have a look.

Also worth noting again that I am on Dev Channel Win 11 25H2 26200 and .NET 8.0.19
(not sure if it has anything to do with the issue though).

Also, just to verify: You're running on an x86 (Intel/AMD) PC, not ARM64 right?

Yeah, running on Win 11 25H2 26220.5770 amd64 (x86-64).

Testing your latest Artifact installer build, with SyncThing v2.0.6 (let me know if you want me to test it out with an older version of SyncThing).
No exception window this time, just a fatal error window, and the following errors logged.
SyncTrayzor shuts down "un-gracefully" after clicking "Close" on the error window.

Okay that's progress. This confirms that it's the Chromium browser (CEF) that doesn't work on your computer for whatever reason. SyncTrayzor doesn't currently enable CEFs debug logs I think. Will look into preparing another build with full logging for CEF so that hopefully we can see why it doesn't work on this machine.

The released v2.0.1 did not generate any errors in the Event Viewer.

@adamcarter81 SyncTrayzor v2 does not support Windows Server 2012. Please see the v2.0.0 changelog:

Support for Windows Vista/7/8. Now requires Windows 10 or newer

(Windows Server 2012 is equivalent to Windows 8)

Unfortunately, it is technically completely infeasible to still support Windows 8. All the SDKs, toolchains, and libraries for it have been deprecated or removed a long time ago.

Funny you should say that.
You see, I am using Vivaldi Snapshot (based on Chorme v140.0.7339.155 at the moment) and have been facing issues with printing and displaying of PDFs in the browser, that according to Vivaldi devs have to do with driver issues with the GPU.

(By the way, I am also using Firefox, and Chromium v142.74.20 at the moment, that all work fine on my system with no issues).
(Also, besides gaming (which I do not do on this system), everything gpu-driver-related seems to work fine, besides SyncTrayzor and Vivaldi. No crashes, no hangs, no (unusual) Event Viewer errors).

In any case, the issue is happening on a laptop with Windows 11 build 26220.6682 x64 with Intel Core i7-8550U and UHD Graphics 620 with Driver_Version=31.0.101.2135
and I have tried everything I can think off:
I have completely uninstalled any and all drivers with DDU, and have installed and rebooted numerous times in between
Driver_Version=31.0.101.2121 from Windows Update
Driver_Version=31.0.101.2130 from HP and
Driver_Version=31.0.101.2135 from Intel
(all are the latest available from each source).

The same issue is happening with any driver.
