The UI will now be constrained to the window instead of running out of the window making it impossible to cancel.

Logging should now only hold 10 logs at a time and remove the oldest one. Warnings and errors, should now finally be pushed to the logfile.

When canceling an install, it will now finally hard stop and delete the prefix it was working on and remove it from the non steam games list.

The GUI has been moved over to Slint instead of egui. I'm doing this because I want all my GUIs to use the same thing.

Faudio has been removed from the winetricks list, as it was causing some issues making audio really low quality.

Should now automatically remove drives like E: F: B: etc. as they were giving issues and were annoying to deal with lol.

And now CLI support has been added for my new application CLF3, a wabbajack Linux installer.

Fix for Cabextract.

4.3.8 New Game Detection And Symlink Changes.

30 Jan 10:02

Choose a tag to compare

Attempted to port GameFinder to our code to have a better handling on game detection, and the start of other game launcher support.

Symlinks in the NaK tools will now no longer be the destination folder and instead should link to the prefix folders, did some testing and if this isn't done it can lead to some unexpected issues or outcomes.

Delete prefix in the prefix cleanup will now clear up the prefix appid folder so its fully removed from the compatdata folder in steam.

Vortex NXM Toggle script should now point to Vortex.exe

4.3.7 Minor Hotfix

Automatically creates the Temp directory in the prefix folder, AppData/Local/Temp this fixes the error some users encountered with MO2 that required manually running:
mkdir -p ~/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/{APP_ID}/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/AppData/Local/Temp

Have removed the appdata symlinks to the NaK tools folder for Vortex as it seems to fail and not deploy mods properly if they are pointed to it... as reported here.

4.3.6 Marketplace Reintroduction And Vortex Has Been Moved As A Plugin

26 Jan 07:00

First things, I'm going to quote what I said on my discord:

I'm deciding to remove Vortex from NaK, but I'm adding vortex as a marketplace plugin, this will be coming out in the next release. As I do not want to support or really deal with vortex's shortcomings on Linux. I **WILL NOT ** provide support for issues after vortex is installed and running, an example would be mods are not working for Vortex. I can add documentation where needed, but I will not be actively supporting or dedicated really anything to vortex. I hope you guys understand 🙂.

The first part of this is done and should work as intended. And the marketplace is fully integrated now.

MO2 will no longer freeze when double-clicking a mod... finally. Needed to do proton wineboot.

Flatpak steam install issue should no longer be present I hope. As I reintegrated winetricks for the setup process.

faudio has been added to the dependencies list.

Added a few fixes and changes when it comes to the prefix manager in the settings.

4.3.5 Refactor Scripts into Dedicated Folder And Blanket Support For All Compatdata Folders

User @murlakatamenka brought this up in an issue. And now it can be marked as completed.

NaK should now go through all the compatdata folders and symlink anything in Appdata and Documents folders. As always you can find these folders for easy access inside the NaK Tools Folder.

This should hopefully fix some vortex issues, and I plan to add heroic/gog support soon as well.

Removed wineserver integration for nxm handling and now it should work with non flatpak browser again lol.

4.3.3 Flatpak Browser Support And Some Changes

So with this new update, I hopefully have found a fix for flatpak browser not working with NaK NXM handler.

Opening in explorer, or opening a text document should open the native linux text editor or your default file browser. Thanks to pr0metheus141 on discord for finding this out.

And then hopefully a fix for MO2 freezing if you do information or double click a mod. If its not fixed the solution seems to be change your proton launch mo2, and then change it back and launch it again and its fixed???

And better registration of NXM handler for NaK.

Also added an account picker if you have multiple steam users. You can pick one at the main menu in the top left.

4.3.2 Steamdeck Fixes, And a few QoL

14 Jan 00:29

Steamdeck has a active users folder of 0, this is not skipped.

Vortex's actual information will now be placed inside of NaK tools folder. This way all the information related to vortex is outside the prefix and can be picked up if you setup an existing vortex.

Game registries should automatically be applied upon setting up a new prefix, for bethesda games. So you shouldn't have to browse for them in MO2 any more. You can still fix the paths if you are using a stock game or are placing the folder somewhere else, you are still able to use the fix game registries file.

Documents folder now symlinks directly to the NaK Tools folder, this way nothing should be lost upon folder deletion. This might also possibly fix Vortex bugs when it tries to write to that folder?

Dotnet10 has been added as a new dependency.
