@danielbachhuber @talldan just checking in on this one for backport consideration. I saw Sergey's comment about a fatal error with PHP 8.0 here.

@ndiego Please backport this diff, not @SergeyBiryukov's patch. The function needs to return array(); to fix the PHP 8+ issue.

I just cherry-picked this PR to the wp/6.1 branch to get it included in the next release: 93842b4
