Details

I have dd.mm.yyyy date format and 24-hour time format configured in Windows system settings. However, zmNinja displays date in mm/dd/yyyy format and 12-hour time instead (for example, in events list filter dialog).
Android version, on the other hand, respects system date/time format settings.

I think the program should either respect system settings or allow to configure date/time format itself.

Are you sure you are seeing Android honor system settings? I hardcode it to Month/Date TZ at least in the events view

The date is dd/mm/yyyy, the time is in 24h format.

I didn't notice this setting :( However, after enabling it nothing changed. At least in the event list filter the time is still in AM/PM format.

The screenshot of event filter is an input date (i.e. taking input using a default date time HTML input). I am referring to the displays like this: The AM/PM toggle should change this. It should also show this as hard coded (Month-Date-Yr) on Android

I'll take a look at what it takes to normalize

The displays in your screenshot are in the same date format (mmm dd) for me, and they do honor the 24h time setting. This date format is not a serious problem, because the month is displayed with letters, not numbers, so I cannot mix up, e.g. December 05th with May 12th.

However, the "Filter by Date/Time" dialog always displays 12h time and mm/dd/yyyy format on Windows, that's the problem.

Ah I see then your problem is more localized. I can't think of any other place except for event filters where I ask for date. Is that the only occurrence you can think of?

I've looked through all the screens of the program - and yes, this seems to be the only problematic place.

Interestingly, the code to display the date selection in both desktop and android is here. It is just a simple HTML <input type="date">

According to the HTML spec on date here, the system should be using whatever is the browser locale. That seems to be working as intended in your android phone but not on desktop. The desktop version uses a bundled chrome version. Not sure if that is what is causing issues.

Frankly not sure if I can change it, but I'll give it a shot. Won't be in the next release - I'll fiddle around after the holidays.

Chrome on my desktop is configured to use Russian locale, which by default uses dd.mm.yyyy and 24h time. However, even if I change zmNinja language to Russian - date/format remains the same (which is VERY weird for inexperienced Russian users, who may be even unaware that some people put month in front of date :) ) Besides, "AM" and "PM" are left untranslated.

Seems to be a problem with Electron indeed.

Okay, so the desktop version now supports a --lang command line (see desktop tips) where you can specify a custom language which will set the browser profile. This only applies to desktop and is disconnected from whatever language you choose in zmNinja (the language choice in zmNinja only affects translated strings, nothing else)

This is an example of me starting the app with --lang='ru' (while my zmNinja language is english, like I said, not connected)
