Keeping this PR up for reference: the original change made in March 2024 to make google_maps_flutter imperative.

To use this, use this in your pubspec.yaml:

dependency_overrides:
  google_maps_flutter:
    git:
      url: https://github.com/androidseb/packages
      ref: imperative_google_maps_flutter-v2.6.0
      path: packages/google_maps_flutter/google_maps_flutter
