In the future is it possible to get any heads up when the release cut will actually happen? Is there an issue I should be following? The README only lists "September" and not a specific day.

I would've loved to get #6157 merged or at least come to an intentional decision not to merge it, because now it'll be another 3 months before the next opportunity

Yes, I track each release with its own ticket. 53.0.0 is tracked with #6016 (also referenced in the description of this PR)

I have been trying to keep it up to date with my intentions, but clearly have not advertised it enough

I apologize about this. I am hoping we can add additional maintainer bandwidth again (kudos to @Xuanwo and @etseidl who have been helping with this more recently)
