Non Numeric Y sample broken in v2.9.0

Expected Behavior

All points should display

Current Behavior

Only the first point displays

Steps to Reproduce (for bugs)

1. Open the sample for a non numeric y axis
2. Notice that only one point shows
3. View the v2.8.0 sample and notice that it works
