Investigate nightly releases to stay up to date with VS Code

We'd like to stay more on top of VS Code releases. In the ideal world, we'd have this semi-automated (i.e. GH Action which runs nightly and checks if it can merge our fork with upstream changes).

We need to investigate the viability of this.

What's our current process?

I'm hoping @TeffenEllis can answer this once we finalize the architectural changes to our fork.
