[CT-2079] [Regression] Logging Fix Accidentally Reverted in Feature Branch Merge

We recently addressed an issue (#6901 ) with missing flush() after write() to log streams. However, the feature branch merge (#6931) accidentally reverted that fix. We need to re-apply it to main.
