Description

@hgkamath
  • Hi, just a user here
  • Firstly, A thankyou to the developers for their contributions to the lem open-source common-lisp editor
  • I Just noticed that a windows build is now available since the Nightly Build - 20260124-0747
  • Please do consider submitting a scoop "app manfest file" to make it even easier for windows users to install the lem-editor as a portable-scoop-app
  • scoop [1] is a package manager for windows that allows even unprivileged users in a simple-CLI portable way to automate the version checking, downloading, installing and subsequent periodic updating.
  • It could go into the scoop extras bucket perhaps.
  • See [2][3] for info and examples on manifest files
  • perhaps also to winget and chocolatey tools also
  • Being listed in these tools, reduces much of the figuring out of how to download and where to install decisions, while maintaining portability, conserving space on C:, which makes it easier for many windows users to automatically fetch and install, thereby lowering barriers to adoption.
