There was still a situation in which the slider could get stuck. This PR fixes that and with that fix the javascript workaround we had before is no longer needed.
Image shows the test we used originally with the new code. Tested both on Server and WebAssembly
As I am needing this to finsih another PR, I'm taking the liberty to self-approve this
