Couldn't you do this with any other event? A reaction could already achieve that result. |

Sure, but every other event carries semantics with it, and might not be naturally applied to certain types of event. The use case I have in mind is key rotation type events. It would be weird to react to something like that. |

The goal here is to make event timestamp verification more accessible to clients that don't want to go through the rigamarole of publishing to or accessing opentimestamps data. This NIP supports both social attestations and relay attestations.
