many thanks for contributing this! I'm thinking it might be good to add a test to verify debian packaging works at some stage to ensure regressions aren't introduced (debootstrap might help here for other distros) but this is great to have!

many thanks for contributing this! I'm thinking it might be good to add a test to verify debian packaging works at some stage to ensure regressions aren't introduced (debootstrap might help here for other distros) but this is great to have!

Thanks for merging!
In Debian we would use https://github.com/oracle/bpftune/blob/main/debian/salsa-ci.yml to do the QA on the packaging. I have to real clue about github workflows, but https://github.com/marketplace/actions/build-debian-packages looks like something that could work for you. Will need the hook to update the changelog as mentioned in the documentation. Then you should have a debian package ready for release.
