Can we get an 14 LTS patch for a regression in that version?

Hi folks,

New primefaces 14 LTS purchaser here.

We recently moved from Primefaces 13 to 14 LTS but we are running into a regression on 14 specifically with primefaces/primefaces#14515

I see it works in 15 but we can't move to that version right now. It worked fine in the 13 version and we have code that depends on this functionality specifically.

Is it possible to get this small change backported to a 14 LTS version?

This would help us a lot.

I understand your situation regarding issue #14515. However, I wanted to clarify that requesting backporting fixes and enhancements to LTS versions is a benefit reserved for PRO tier users, not LTS tier users. Still we'll consider backporting this and added to our backlog.

I guess I'm new to this and perhaps I had a misunderstanding when I purchased the LTS. From the LTS description on https://showcase.primefaces.org/lts.xhtml it states...

LTS Versions

Majority of the existing applications prefer to remain at a previous version due to stability requirements instead of upgrading to the latest > version immediately. PrimeFaces LTS is a support service to provide a license for the finest compatible version suited to you. LTS covers version 7 and newer for guaranteed support to bring the latest defect fixes and security updates to your project.

The "guaranteed support to bring the latest defect fixes" line in particular seems a bit hard to understand in this situation. The reason being is that this issue (#14515) is labelled as 'defect' and I would have assumed that it would be automatically pulled back for the LTS versions that were affected.

I am to understand that 'latest defect fixes' are only typically those that are requested by Pro users? Or do other defects also get included?

Again, I do appreciate your considering this bug, I'm just trying to understand the benefits of paying for an LTS support license and what is typical as we need to plan our own software releases that use Primefaces.

Guaranteed support means, PrimeTek will continue to support older versions for maintenance and security updates. Our team is responsible for picking up what should be included, also PRO users can request certain changes to be included. LTS users receive receive updates and security patches curated by our team and the PRO user requests. Of course, if a criticial issue is brought to the attention of our team by a community member or a LTS user, we'll sure consider it just like any other issue. For example, last week we've fixed a criticial XSS issue sent by a non LTS/PRO users.

#14515 is not extremely criticial as it is not a security issue however the team will consider it for sure.
