Some enhancements to the README file, which is the only documentation for this project:

  • Main thing: mention of dynamic versioning in the section pyproject.toml usage. I believe that dynamic versioning in this way requires dynamic = ["version"].
  • Added note about not committing the _version.py file to version control in the git archives subsection.
  • Tried to make the section spacing more consistent (two newlines everywhere).
  • Fixed a couple of typos in the opening paragraph.

The README is pretty long and getting fairly complex, trying to support deprecated workflows etc. It might be time to split out the docs for this project, something for discussion maybe.
