Hi, I’m Adam Saegebarth 👋
I’m a software engineer in Seattle who enjoys building software at the intersection of data, music, hardware, and the web.
Most of my work revolves around turning ideas into polished tools—from search systems and recommendation engines to home automation, embedded devices, and creative software. I enjoy working across the entire stack, whether that’s designing APIs, optimizing databases, building user interfaces, or wiring up an ESP32.
What I’m Working On
- 🎧 Vinyl Playlist Maker — semantic search, recommendation algorithms, and playlist optimization for vinyl DJs
- 📻 Public Vinyl Radio — an all-vinyl music project exploring analog culture through recorded DJ sets, software, and storytelling
- 🏠 Home Lab — Home Assistant, ESPHome, Frigate, Docker, networking, and self-hosted infrastructure
- 🚴 Data Projects — using code and visualization to explore cycling, running, and performance data
Things I Enjoy Building
- Search & recommendation systems
- Data engineering and visualization
- Full-stack web applications
- Home automation & embedded hardware
- Developer tooling & automation
- Music technology
Current Interests
- Vector embeddings & semantic search
- Audio analysis
- Self-hosting
- Open source software

When I’m away from the keyboard you’ll probably find me riding bikes, digging through record bins, DJing, or building something that started as “just a small weekend project.”
