Using a supported version?

  • I have searched open and closed issues for duplicates.
  • I am using Signal-Desktop as provided by the Signal team, not a 3rd-party package.

Overall summary

On an account which have been set with autosuppress timer, a bunch of message transfered to new contacts (from a group chat) are without autosuppress timer. After consulting with other people, this situation have happened before. It seems specific to messages transfered to new contacts.

Steps to reproduce

  1. account set with autosuppression timer
  2. previously existing messages
  3. a group chat with unknown account
  4. transfer message to new contacts

Expected result

As for any new conversation initied by this account, messages should be automatically timed for autosuppression, as per the parameters set for automatic timer on new conversations.

Actual result

First message on these new conversations (which are transfered from a previous message) are not timed for autosuppression.
