The error message NoMetaError: CSF: missing default export appears when a story file doesn't have a default export, which is required for Storybook to identify story metadata. This is triggered during the CSF factories automigration when the parser can't find the default export in your .story files. The error message includes the file location and a link to the docs for fixing default exports, making it actionable for users to resolve by adding a default export as described in the documentation cite.

Recent updates have improved error handling and messaging, but the message could still be clearer about what needs to be fixed in the file cite. To resolve, ensure each CSF story file includes a default export with the required metadata.
