My name is Davide and I started working on the Polkadot ecosystem almost one year ago.

I'm mostly passionate about working on low level system components,
with main focus on applied cryptography and distributed computing.

Since I started working on Substrate and Polkadot my main tasks are more or less related to the consensus protocols components.

Worth mentioning contributions to the ecosystem so far:

• core: Add support for ECDSA identities libp2p/rust-libp2p#2352 - support for ECDSA identities in Rust libp2p implementation
• Replace libsecp256k1 with secp256k1 paritytech/substrate#10798 - integration of a bit faster secp256k1 ECDSA implementation
• BABE's revert procedure paritytech/substrate#11022 - revert Babe's consensus data on CLI revert command
• Grandpa revert procedure paritytech/substrate#11162 - revert Grandpa's consensus data on CLI revert command
• Clean obsolete BABE's weight data paritytech/substrate#10748 - remove obsolete Babe's block weight data
• Refactory of Fork-Tree data structure paritytech/substrate#11228 - Mostly a simplification and recursive to iterative rewrite of a fairly important data structure used to keep track of epoch data by both Babe and Grandpa (and next Sassafras).
• Chain-selection subsystem data revert paritytech/polkadot#5350 - Polkadot chain selection subsystem data revert
• Revert approval voting paritytech/polkadot#5438 - Polkadot approval voting subsystem data revert
